How our events work

Small, well-run events with people who build and sell for a living. Speakers share what works and what it costs. You meet people worth knowing.

  • Every talk

    Real numbers from real companies

Speakers show how they use AI in their business, with results, costs and what went wrong.

  • After every event

    Three introductions within 48 hours

Tell us what you’re working on. We introduce you to three people, and both sides agree first.

  • House rule

    No sales pitches

Sponsors don’t pitch on stage, and guests don’t sell to each other. We never share the guest list.

  • Every application

    A strong mix of people

Founders, operators and builders. We read every application before people join.

  • Build Lab

    Hands-on sessions

Bring a task from your own business and build it with an experienced builder.

  • Every event

    A true story to start

We open with an Embarrassing Fact: a real AI story that sounds made up, with its source.

Who comes

Founders and business owners from across the Bay Area, technical or not.

  • A group in a gallery space listening as one woman speaks, others leaning in

    Non-technical founders

You run a company and want to use AI without building an engineering team first.

  • Two people working through code together on a laptop

    Technical founders

You build the product. You want to compare notes with other builders and meet people who sell.

  • A small team in a loft office planning at a whiteboard covered in notes

    GTM-focused founders

You own sales and marketing. You want to see which AI tools bring in customers.

  • People talking over dinner at a long shared table

    Business owners

You run an established business. You want to know where AI saves time and money.

Sounds fake. Isn’t

Every event opens with one: a true story about AI and business that sounds made up. Each one has a source.

AI coding agent deletes production database during code freeze

During a code freeze, Replit’s AI agent wiped the live database of SaaStr founder Jason Lemkin’s app, with records on more than 1,200 executives. It then said a rollback wouldn’t work. The rollback worked, and Replit’s CEO called the deletion unacceptable and added safeguards.

How introductions work

We choose your introductions ourselves, based on what you tell us.

  1. When you apply

    Tell us about your work

What you’re trying to do with AI this quarter, and what you can offer others.

  2. After the event

    We pick three people

We choose three people worth meeting. Both sides agree before we connect you.

  3. Within 48 hours

    You get three introductions

Each one comes with a short note on why you should talk.
