Effective October 20, 2026.
These terms cover your use of this site and your membership in The Shift, a community run by The Shift. Sending an application or using the site means you accept them.
Membership
Membership starts with an application, and the hosts decide who joins. You can leave at any time by telling us through the application form.
Events
Events are booked on Luma. Each event’s price, deposit and refund terms are on its Luma page, and Luma’s own terms apply to the booking.
The room rules
Everyone at an event follows the room rules on this site. Selling or recruiting on the floor costs you your seat, and what is said under the Chatham House Rule stays unattributed. Breaking the rules can end your membership.
Using the site
Use the site lawfully. Do not break, overload or scrape it, and do not use the form to send spam.
Liability
The site and its content, the Embarrassing Facts included, are provided as is. Each fact links to its source, and the source is responsible for what it reports. To the extent the law allows, The Shift is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Changes
If we update these terms and you keep using the site, you accept the new version.
